    WWII AT-6 “Texan” Flight Experience Rides at the New York Airshow

    THE AT-6 IS AT THE NEW YORK AIR SHOW THIS WEEKEND! Take a Flight back in time in the American Airpower Museum's Legendary WWII Advanced Trainer the North American AT-6D "Texan" this weekend while attending the New York Air Show at Orange County Airport - MGJ in Montgomery NY! The North American AT-6/SNJ "Texan" was the Advanced trainer that pilots mastered prior to earning their wings of Silver and Gold in the USAAF and USN during World War Two. Come fly with us and enjoy a living history flight experience where you can experience a snapshot of what is was like to fly as a WWII military aviator. When you fly with us you will be briefed by our pilot and ground crew on the aircraft, and safety. You will then gear up and strap in where you will take to the skies around Orange County airport and the surrounding countryside for approximately 15-20 minutes and enjoy a memorable living history flight experience. From check-in, briefing, and your time in the air the entire experience is approximately 45-60 minutes in duration.     WWII C-47 Flight Experience Rides at the New York Air Show

    Take a flight back in time with us at the 2025 New York Air Show at the Orange County Airport, Montgomery NY! Enjoy a historic flight experience in the American Airpower Museum’s Legendary WWII Douglas C-47 “Skytrain” Troop Transport. Our C-47 is still authentically configured inside and out as they were in 1944 when used to drop U.S Army, and British Airborne Paratroopers on their historic D-Day missions on June 5th, 1944 followed just months later once again for Operation Market Garden in September of 1944. This scenic ride program includes arrival, welcome and safety briefing, and a scenic flight around the Orange County Airport and surrounding countryside. The scenic flight experience is approximately 15-20 minutes in duration in the air. The whole program from check in to flight completion is approximately 1hr in duration.     The Immersive WWII C-47 / D-Day “Living History Flight Experience”

    Take a flight back in time with the American Airpower Museum WWII C-47 D-Day Living History Flight Experience! This immersive living history program lasts approximately 2.0 hours including your 20–25-minute flight in the Legendary WWII Douglas C-47 “Skytrain”. The American Airpower Museum C-47 D-Day Flight Experience is a one-of-a-kind immersive living history educational program. Living Historians guide participants from arrival as they gear up!, then receive their 101st Airborne D-Day operations briefing prior to boarding the museum’s the C-47 “Skytrain” as if it were June 5th, 1944. Flying over Long Island’s south shore beaches provides the backdrop for a simulated jump and a sense of what U.S. 101st and 82nd Airborne Division Paratroopers experienced on their June 5th, 1944 momentous 1,200-plane airborne assault behind the lines of the Normandy Beach landings at Utah, Point Du Hoc, and Omaha Beach. During this one-of-a-kind experience you will be geared up with authentic reproduction M-42 / M-43 field jackets like the ones worn by paratroopers during D-Day and Operations Market Garden, Replica “Steel Pot” G.I helmets, and your simulated jump harness. Experience the actual sights and sounds of the C-47’s engines fire up and you take to the skies. See, hear, and feel what it was like for the crew operating their C-47 and paratroopers getting ready to make history on the night of June 5th, and day of June 6th,1944. As you ready to "cross the beaches" you will “stand up”, and “hook up”, simulating what it was like to be ready on the static line for the green light. Don't worry though there's no real jumping on this flight experience it's all a living history re-enactment of course! You then return to the museum for the conclusion of the living history presentation and will be able to take photos with your living historians, aircrew, and the C-47!
