Join the Team – Volunteer Opportunities:

Volunteers are the backbone of the American Airpower Museum! Serving as a museum volunteer is a rewarding opportunity to help preserve our aviation and military history and help keep ‘em flying for generations to come! As a volunteer you will have an important part in making every guest’s visit a special and unique experience at the American Airpower Museum.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Docent / Tour Guides
  • Historians
  • Administrative / Fundraising Volunteers
  • Facility Operations / Maintenance
  • Air Show / Museum Event Volunteers
  • Aircraft Maintenance / Flight Line Operations
  • Aircraft / Vehicle static Restoration / maintenance

How to become an AAM volunteer:

  • Be 18+ years old to volunteer. If under 18, parental supervision/permission required.
  • Complete a volunteer application either online, or in print.
  • Attend Volunteer orientation & training.
  • Some volunteer positions require specific training, and scheduled commitment.

The American Airpower Museum, a 501C3 educational foundation chartered by the State of New York, could not function without the help of our volunteers. We are always looking for people who would like to learn to be docents or who have specialized skills in mechanical, construction, public relations or fundraising areas to name but a few.
