Halloween takes to the skies when the American Airpower Museum presents “Fright Takes Flight!” on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (last entry is 3:30pm) at the Museum’s historic hangar at Republic Airport.

The Museum’s annual Haunted Hangar Halloween Party transforms its collection of legendary military aircraft into the backdrop for a day of family-friendly Halloween fun. Children and adults are encouraged to come in costume and explore a hangar filled with spooky displays, trick-or-treat stations and Halloween surprises.

Costumed Museum volunteers will greet visitors and guide families through the Haunted Hangar, where young trick-or-treaters can collect treats while making their way among the Museum’s historic aircraft and Halloween displays.

Visitors can venture through the haunted house, experience a spooky World War II bomber, enjoy Halloween sights and sounds throughout the hangar, and discover plenty of treats along the way.

Weather permitting, families can also climb aboard the Museum’s Ghost Flyer Express Tram for a Halloween-themed ride around the historic flight line, surrounded by aircraft and displays decorated for the occasion.

“Fright Takes Flight!” offers families a unique opportunity to celebrate Halloween inside one of Long Island’s historic aviation landmarks, combining costumes, trick-or-treating and Halloween fun with an up-close look at the aircraft and history preserved by the American Airpower Museum.
